Here at POSMarket, we understand the significance of adequate research before buying a receipt printer. It doesn’t matter what industry you are in, there are many points to consider when choosing a receipt printer for your particular business application. These include the type of receipts to be printed along with the specific volumes that are needed. Obviously different businesses will require different receipt print solutions. That’s where we come in!

We carry receipt printers manufactured by world class electronics leaders that design and make the highest quality POS equipment. If it’s a receipt printer you are after; we have a fabulous comprehensive range of affordable options to suit a variety of different business needs.

Basically there are three types of receipt printers to choose from. These are Thermal Printers, Impact printers & Inkjet printers.

1. Thermal Printers: For the majority of business applications these are undoubtedly the favorite type of printer. Not only are they user-friendly, economical and efficient but they are also the quickest receipt printers on the market today. Because they do not use ink or ribbons they are inexpensive and the speedy application is ideal for high-turnover business environments such as supermarkets, chain stores and other busy hubs. Using thermal technology with special heat sensitive chemically treated paper; texts and graphics are created directly onto the paper.

2. Impact Printers: These are similar to typewriters as not only do they use ribbons to produce texts on the paper but the impact mechanism also stamps the characters directly on to the paper via the ribbon. Impact printers are rather noisy and slower than thermal ones. They are popular in some industries like banks and gaming but are being replaced by the speedier and more efficient thermal receipt printer these days. Mind you, impact printers are still widely used in restaurant kitchens due to the excess heat which doesn’t seem to affect them.

3. Inkjet Receipt Printers: This particular style of receipt printer uses links to produce better quality printing than that of impact printers. Creative businesses, advertising and promotional applications that require colorful graphics and special publications are best done on these slow but effective printers. Due to the slowness and need to change ink cartridges regularly for the various color options, inkjet printers are not the best machines for retail environments that need fast receipt print processing applications.

Epson Highlight!
One of the most popular brands of receipt printers on the market today is Epson with the Epson TMT88IV model being one that is particularly apt for high turnover business environments. These printers work quietly and quickly printing 2 color text and graphics effortlessly at 8” per second. With various interfaces, a drop in paper load, tear bar and auto cutting features, it’s no wonder that Epson printers are so well-accepted. The wireless option is particularly well suited to hospitality environments. You really should do yourself a favor and check out the fabulous range of Epson brand receipt printers now!
